CATERPILLAR D6 | VEHICLE FIRE SUPPRESSION

We recently installed a Dual Agent Automatic Fire Suppression System on a Caterpillar D6 Bulldozer, providing essential fire protection for demanding waste and recycling - landfill operations.

How Fireward’s Dual Agent System Works:

Our Dual Agent system utilises dry powder and wet chemical suppression agents to provide comprehensive fire safety:

• Dry Powder rapidly knocks down flames and suppresses hidden fires in hard-to-reach areas.

• Wet Chemical cools superheated engine components, preventing reignition through strategically placed nozzles in the engine bay.

Release System & Detection

This system uses an Indirect Release System, deploying suppression agents through nozzles for maximum coverage. It is triggered by a Pneumatic Detection Tube, which bursts under high temperatures, activating the system.

Additional Features:

In-Cab Monitor - Alerts the operator when a fire is detected and suppressed
Battery Isolation - Cuts off the battery supply to reduce electrical fire risks
Manual Actuator - Allows manual activation of the system in an emergency
Engine Shutdown - Automatically shuts down the engine to prevent further damage
