Vehicle Fire suppression installations

VOLVO 120H

VOLVO 120H WHEEL LOADER | VEHICLE FIRE SUPPRESSION

We recently installed our Dual Agent Automatic Fire Suppression System on a Volvo 120H Wheel Loader, enhancing fire safety for port operations.

The Power of Dual Agent Suppression

The Dual Agent system consists of wet and dry suppression agents. The dry powder provides rapid fire knockdown, effectively suppressing flames and reaching hidden fire sources. The wet chemical agent cools superheated engine components, preventing reignition through strategically positioned nozzles in the engine bay.

Why Choose Fireward’s Dual Agent Fire Suppression?

The combination of wet and dry suppression agents provides double the protection against fire damage:

  • Dry Powder – Rapidly knocks down flames and penetrates areas where fire could be hidden.

  • Wet Chemical – Cools superheated components, preventing reignition through precisely positioned nozzles.

Additional Features

Battery Isolator – Prevents electrical fires by cutting off the battery.
In-Cab Monitor – Alerts the operator when a fire has been detected and suppressed.
Manual Actuator – Allows operators to manually activate the system in emergencies.
Engine Shutdown – Automatically stops the engine to reduce fire spread.

Fire Risks in Port Machinery

The Volvo 120H operates in busy port environments where high workloads, flammable debris, and hydraulic fluids increase the risk of machinery fires. A fire suppression system is essential to minimise downtime, reduce repair costs, and protect both operators and equipment from fire hazards.
